Another line of development around traces is GVMT: a hierarchic timeline for rapid prototyping of modelled traces visualizations. It allowed us to play with the notion of trace-presentation stylesheets.

A demo is available here with eLabBench traces (you need to allow Flash). You can import your own traces.
