Research theme |
I work in the area of evolutionary and adaptive systems, a broad interdisciplinary field that includes (parts of) cognitive science, artificial intelligence, artificial life, biology and philosophy. My research areas include biological and neural modelling, evolutionary robotics, embodied cognitive science, social cognition, philosophy of biology and mind. My recent interests include an enactive theory of organismic values and sense-making, dynamical approaches to understanding the generation and transformation of meaning in individual and social cognition, exploring the life-cognition continuity thesis, building homeostatic adaptation in autonomous robots in order to make them care about what they do (for real!), and exploring the role of play in human cognitive development. | |
